Ed Weston

I love his work. It has a lot of subtle lighting and his pictures of his children are fantastic. 
Favorite.3rd favorite. 2nd favorite.

thanks 4 posting these - they ARE beautiful. I agree with your observation of the light - lots of beautiful grays in these prints that seem to exaggerate the soft, sullen mood of the people...
